Discover-Dachstein

This paragliding safari covers the  Best of Sky Club Austria for advanced pilots.

Discover-Dachstein encompasses phantastic thermal and x-country flying within the Flightpark Dachstein, the center flight zone of the Austrian paragliding state champion. An individual flight technique and safety training is included using the new concept of the Big Five of Aktive Paragliding at the Professional Safety Training Center at mount Krippenstein above the lake Hallstatt. To top it off, a Groundhandling for Masters introductory course is provided as well.  

A spectacular flight is from the official take-off spot of the impressive Red-Bull X-Alps competition. Launch next to the majestic Dachstein south wall at the Dachstein glacier and do the Jack London flight, a x-country flight reaching over the top of the 3000 m high Dachstein peak and glide 14 km towards the UNESCO world heritage town of Hallstatt. Another flight path will lead you from the Dachstein mountain towards the Stoderzinken and ultimately to the Castle Thannegg in Moosheim. Daily meeting point is the Castle Thannegg in Moosheim.

Services:

6 day safari, starting Monday until Saturday (Arrive Sun, Depart Sat/Sun)

• Thermal- and x-country flying at and from the Dachstein mountain

• Introduction to Groundhandling for Masters with gliders of reduced wing span, special for strong wind conditions
• Radio communication for evey pilot

Participants

Minimum 8 pilots, max. 12 pilots

Arrival

By car, train to Gröbming/Moosheim, or by plane to Salzburg
Shuttle service is provided from and back to the airport for 60.- € roundtrip.
